Every provider in this directory goes through the same four-stage process before it earns a score: we buy a plan with our own money, deploy an identical test site, measure TTFB from three continents, and monitor uptime every 60 seconds for 30+ days. Providers cannot pay for placement or a higher score — full details in our editorial policy.

Our benchmarks take a minimum of 30 days of uptime monitoring. We publish the review only after the full test completes, so scores are never estimates.
Can a hosting company pay to be listed or ranked higher?

How often is this directory updated?
Benchmarks are re-run at least annually, and prices are spot-checked quarterly. Each update carries a date stamp.
